Valuing our life

Sitting drying my hair this morning, I had this deep emotion come over me. Minutes before I had heard that someone I had known for years had died suddenly. The friend was young and it was unexpected. This got me thinking how we undervalue life, our own personal lives included.

We have been taught to compromise our feelings, our hearts and what we know in our hearts to be true. Since we were little children we have learnt the skill of not valuing our own life ! Think about this, we get this one life and at the end of it we leave everything we have accumulated behind. Literally everything. I know this because I have my Moms things that fit into a shoe box in my cupboard.

People come and go in our lives some bring us joy, some take and some leave us with sorrow. If we are real with ourselves life can in fact be a struggle. A lot of the time we endure this suffering because we have learnt how to compromise ourselves. We learn to push through, suck it up !

We put up with being treated poorly. We do the things we don’t want to do because we want to be liked and accepted, we stay in relationships because we don’t know if anyone else will ever love us, and so on.

I have had to really use a panga to forge a path through the forest to allow me to understand what it actually means to be human. I sometimes think I landed on my head because I look around and think, really, was that really what we were all meant to do ! I honestly believe we don’t know and have never really been taught how to be human. Instead we follow our families beliefs, the country we live in, it’s beliefs; our education system moulds us.

Do we question where we are in all of this ? What does our heart long for ? Do we have soul families ? What is the great mystery of life? Do we ever ask these questions?

A lot of us never received guidance on things outside of what our family, our culture and even what our countries believe. This is usually why we resist anything new being shown to us.

In forging my path I have learnt to question, to find what is truth for me, to follow my gut, to learn who are your friends and who are not. Because there are genuinely people out there that take and don’t give back.

I recently felt so liberated completing my new book ‘ Walking yourself Home ‘, which will be published later this year. Writing it brought me to my knees seeing how courageous and far I have come, to learn through all the trials in my life, to learn to love myself and put ME first for a change.

That in the end, all that matters is the love we have for ourselves and others. Walking yourself home to the place that we shall return to, is what our life’s purpose should be about, but we are not taught that, we are so busy compromising ourselves and not valuing our life ! Not questioning.

All everyone is looking for is to be seen, loved and heard. A lot of us never had that as a child, we searched in the wrong places to find love and we compromised ourselves. The sooner we learn that life is not found in the ‘system’ and we came here to grow as souls, this is the education we must receive. The rest is actually secondary. We have come here to learn who we truly are as spiritual beings. We have extraordinary capabilities. What society has labeled the alternative way is the natural normal way of living – the voice of nature.

We must value ourselves enough to wake up in the morning and notice what makes our heart sing ♥️. This is our life to live, to experience bliss. After all we don’t want to leave this life with our music still inside of us.

This is an INVITATION to join me online on the 17th February and spend this intimate time getting to know more about yourself and the life we are meant to live.

Will you come ? 🙏
